| So, after getting the problems resolved with idling, and oil pressure etc, got it running really well, except a small exhaust leak, and sticky throttle cable. I took it to Shannonville in Ontario, about 2 hours east of Toronto. I was the only Z all day, till about 5pm when a couple 350z showed up for the evening events, but I left around then. I must say, it's very hard to drive on street tires when everyone else is flying around on full race tires. I got out on my first lap and really started getting into it. I had her squeeling around each corner, getting back end to come out a bit. I switched my rears to my NA stockers to drop some weight. After coming around the front straight, I hit turn 1 at around 80 or so, still getting used to it, I was in second gear, around 6700 rpms, when all of a sudden just before coming out of it, and getting ready to shift into 3rd, I had a loss of power, and it started running roug, (felt the same as a bad injector). I was thinking the worst...blown exhaust valve is what came to mind...thinking I'd pushed it too hard in second...I was pissed, just paid my dues $160 for the day, and a long ass drive, just to blow it on my first try!! So I got her into the pits, popped the hood, reved it a bit from the throttle cable and saw it run rough at the bottom end. My buddy comes off the track, and right away sees the coil pack connection fell off on #6, I think that's it...the one on the drivers side, closest to the front of the car. Turns out the connector was broken in half...all the area that goes over the male end was cracked in half. I was pretty pissed, considering I just put that motor in, and they just put it on like that, nothing at least re-inforcing it, maybe a new connector?? I just put a piece of wire around it to hold it securely. So the rest of the day went well, but now I have slightly more carbon build up on my left exhaust tip...gee, did I do some damage?? on with the pics: This is a Lotus Super 7 with a Mazda 13b rotary in it, this thing was flying around the track
A nice 3rd gen RX7
She was in pristene condition

A couple 2nd gen Rx7's that were out
One of the guy's who went out with us, he was pretty fast for a honda
Me and my buddy Steve, he's the mechanic that did the motor swap...and let my car go with that broken coil pack connector...mfkr
Here we all are coming around the last turn coming to the front straight, me, Steve, and the other guy....they did pass me, I couldn't hold the line on my street tires
Heading to the pits
The Rx7's with an Rx8
hard to see, but my Khumo's are melted to shit
A fully race-prepped Stang
This was a sweet race-prepped Rx7, NA, 230hp to the wheels with a 13B, 6barrel Holley Carb
The motor
A 512 that showed up, but didn't track, the Porsche in behind did, and was fun to watch

The Lotus/Mazda coming around to the front

This vette, was very fast, the driver said they were just out to test a new cooling system
Here's a pic my buddy Adam took while in the passenger seat
He tried to get us coming up on a hard right, but I think he got tossed to the left when he snapped it
An rx7 coming around
Adam took a few shots from behind while riding with Steve in his Civic...Steve gets that thing reved to 9K rpm's...crazy

A 355 Spyder that showed up in the afternoon, just as the clouds were rolling in
Started to rain pretty heavily around 4pm
Some cars when out once the rain got lighter An Rx8 that was usually driving slow, with a passenger filming everyone as they went by
The Ferrari went out when the rain stopped, drove like a pussy for the most part...it was wet, but once it started drying, he stepped it up a bit...funny thing is, him n' the Porsched passed us on the way home, driving like cock suckers since the highway was sooo packed for a holiday drive home
The Porsche as he was just about to pass the Ferrari...what a pussy
A cool pic of the Rx7 on our way home
So, all in all, I learned a lot about driving...I learned I need proper rubber to have a chance. I'm pretty concerned about how much damage could have been caused whem my coil pack connector came off...valve guide probably suffered??
